TRAVEL’s REBIRTH

Dear Traveler,

In a time of so many unknowns, one thing is absolutely clear: People want to travel. They crave the freedom to get up and go, to discover, to taste, to connect, to enjoy. With our movements having been so limited by a global pandemic, we have all felt pent-up. Now, the pent-up desire to travel is enormous.No surprise there.

What may be a surprise – to some, at least – is what people want from their travels. Travelers’ desires have evolved tremendously over these past two years, and we are truly excited to tell you how TTC has evolved with it.

A recent study of travelers’ attitudes on Booking.com confirms just what those of us at TTC have foreseen and been working towards. With all the stress we have been through, travel is seen more and more as an essential form of self-care, with 79% of respondents saying it benefits their mental and emotional wellbeing, and 77% saying that the simple pleasure of feeling the sun on their skin will improve their mood.

This kind of self-care, however, can only come when you know that someone else is caring for you, which is what we do. In one sense it is what we have always done, as in our motto “Driven by Service.” Over the course of the pandemic, all of our brands have taken service to an entirely new level. These include our innovations such as our Wellbeing Directors, dedicated to your health on all trips of more than 20 guests with Trafalgar, Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold, all geared towards providing you with frictionless travel.

The study shows that travelers booking now are more open to new travel experiences, with 61% saying they may wish to take different types of vacations than they have in the past. We’ve got you there as well and invite you to explore the wide range of diverse travel styles offered by TTC’s 40 brands.

Not only do people want different types of travel, but they want their travels to be more meaningful, looking for journeys that both touch their souls while touching the souls of the places they visit. 58% of people are looking for travel that has a positive impact on local communities. This has been a priority for all of TTC’s companies since long before the pandemic, with innovative offerings such as Trafalgar’s Be My Guest experiences and Insight Experiences, that bring authentic connection to local communities. We care deeply about the impact of our travels on People, the Planet, and Wildlife, both in the day to day activities of all our brands, and through the TreadRight Foundation, where you will find connection to a whole new collection of experiences that Make Travel Matter.

As excited as people are about traveling again – with 63% saying that they want the journeys they are booking now to make up for lost travel time – they are less excited than ever about dealing with the logistics of travel. This is where we are particularly excited to share what we have been working on in recent years, innovations to make your travel seamless, effortless, and fun.

Over the course of the pandemic we have been constantly at work on technological improvements that will make your future travels with us go safely and smoothly. The study showed that 64% of travelers anticipate technology will be more important than ever in their travels, especially around health and wellbeing. Toward that end, we have implemented Genesys, a new telecommunications system that lets you communicate whenever and however you most prefer. We’ve also implemented more use of QR codes, touchless and low-touch systems, all designed to streamline your journey.

Our position is very clear: We want to offer you adventure that lies in discovery, wonder, connection, and awe – not in logistical headaches, frustrations, and mishaps.

These past two years have been difficult ones for us at TTC, and for all who love to travel. But I can assure you that the future of travel is more exciting than ever. So let yourself dream – and book your next vacation.
