On behalf of all of The Travel Corporation’s (TTC) 40 award-winning travel and hospitality brands that are owned and led by my family, I want to help you feel fully confident in investing your future travel arrangements and monies with us, despite these uncertain times.

We recognize that in these challenging times, many travel companies are under severe financial strain and this is causing understandable concern among travelers, including some of our guests. TTC is a global business and 2020 marks a very special year for us; our first hundred years in business, always run by the same family now across four generations. Over the century, we have built and nurtured an outstanding reputation for innovative travel experiences, superb service, warm hospitality and great value.

We have learned to always conduct our business conservatively and today are fully accredited in all the countries we do business in. Being private, we usually do not release information regarding our financial position, but these aren’t usual times. I’d like to personally reassure you of TTC’s current financial strength and future longevity. To bring you peace of mind that goes beyond our commitment to a great vacation, I’m sharing some tangible financial information with you, so that you know that your monies are safe too.

Within our group of TTC brands is Red Carnation Hotels, (just named the 4th Top Hotel Brand in the World by Travel & Leisure magazine – July 2020) which owns 14 spectacular properties, situated in prime locations around the world. Red Carnations Hotels is audited by the international accountancy firm Mazars, which confirms that the Company has unencumbered fixed assets in excess of US$300,000,000 at 31 December, 2019. We share this solely to give you reassurance and comfort in knowing that TTC is highly solvent. May this therefore give you, our clients and future guests, the confidence that your monies for future travel are safe with TTC and it’s brands. This is a commitment that many other travel companies are unfortunately unable to provide to you at this time.

Please also be assured that your health and wellbeing is at the forefront of everything we are doing right now, to prepare for when we can all begin to responsibly travel again. Our global team has worked with various global organizations such as WTTC, CLIA and taken recommendations distributed by The WHO and CDC to develop and implement the most stringent new protocols to help ensure your wellbeing and health when you go on vacation with us again. Also, as an industry first, our brands; Trafalgar, Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold have created and implemented a new position on their trips, a Wellbeing Director (please see below for more detail) who will help make certain all necessary protocols are followed and ensured. Required travel insurance

For your travel in 2021, we will require every guest to have their own travel insurance plan in place before they travel with us. Ask your chosen brand for more details about our travel insurance options or speak to your Travel Agent to get started.

Health in the sky

Health and hygiene standards pertaining to your flights* typically include the sanitization of all surfaces before boarding, new physical distancing protocols and the use of face masks worn by all flight crew and travelers.

*Specific health and hygiene standards may vary airline by airline. Please check with your selected airline for more information.

Pre-Travel Wellbeing Declaration

We ask all of our guests to complete a short health and wellness questionnaire up to 72 hours before traveling with us to help everyone enjoy their vacation.

Once you have registered with us, a few days before your trip you can easily contact us to answer any questions you might have. (You will need to register for our brands’ mobile portals – MyTrafalgar, MyInsight, MyContiki, MyUniworld, MyUbyUniworld, MyLuxuryGold, MyCostsaver, MyBrendan, MyGET, MyAATKings to get connected.)

As part of TTC, our brands are kept up to date with government advisories and travel alerts on a regular basis and is continually in touch with our partners on the ground in each destination. Rest assured that our teams work to ensure our supplier partners (hotels, restaurants, museums and other venues) are also applying the same standard to these new hygiene and distancing protocols, to the extent possible.

We are very selective in who we work with and choose to only use suppliers and partners (hotels, restaurants, farmers, local communities, charities, ground handlers and venues) that take the wellbeing of our guests as seriously as we do and agree to meet expected guidelines and specifications. We only work with establishments that we are confident will consistently adhere to our standards.

Enhanced hygiene protocols

Our enhanced hygiene protocols include the regular sanitization of all surfaces in our hotels, onboard our ships and various modes of transport. We also have additional hygiene equipment such as face masks and hand sanitizer available upon request if you have misplaced or forgotten yours during your travels with us. These protocols have been developed by us in close collaboration with the WTTC, CLIA and other international organizations for the industry.

Physical distancing

Our professionally and highly trained teams will always do their best to ensure physical distancing and other hygiene protocols are practiced by all of our guests while still working as passionately as ever to ensure you have a wonderful vacation. Your cooperation in following these protocols while traveling or staying with us is also important and needed.

Premium Purity

On all Uniworld owned ships and Red Carnation Hotels we have invested in the global industry leading solution ‘Premium Purity’. Premium Purity purifies the air and renders treated surfaces self-disinfecting in a chemical-free, healthy and sustainable way. It significantly reduces the presence of microbes such as viruses and bacteria.

Wearing masks

There are different requirements all over the world regarding the wearing of face masks, including where and when. Our local teams will be happy to share local requirements and our expectations directly with you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to get clarity on this with your TTC brand of choice, and in the destination you will be traveling to.

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

COVID-19 Warning

We have introduced these enhanced hygiene protocols – for you, our guests, and our team members. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) and government health bodies, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. We ask that you please take personal responsibility for your wellbeing. This begins with packing any personal protective equipment and sanitizers you require.

Please adopt physical distancing and hygiene practises throughout your pre-trip travel arrangements and follow all health instruction whether physical signage, or requests from our professional staff once you are vacationing with us. In choosing to travel with us, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
